When the BYU Cougars made a trip across the country to play in Glens Falls, NY, they did it for Jimmer. Actually, they did it for the town itself; the fine citizens of Glens Falls desperately wanted to see their hometown hero play again.
I think I can understand how the people of Glens Falls felt. Jimmer is a special player; it's no wonder they wanted to see him again.
Fortunately we get to see Jimmer, along with his equally special running mate Jackson Emery, twice a week in a big building less than a mile from my house. Both Jimmer and Jackson are some of the best players to don BYU blue. Both are making their way to the top of the record books, and both are going to graduate at the end of this season.
That dark truth is just starting to sink in.
We've got such a great team this year, and if you're not taking the time to savor every bit of it, you're doing yourself a great disservice. We BYU fans are in the middle of something pretty awesome, and we better be enjoying it.
You hear me Cougar fans? ENJOY IT!
Start by going to see BYU play Air Force tomorrow night. I know the Falcons aren't the sexiest team on our schedule, but I personally will take every chance I can get to see Jimmer and Jackson and the rest of this BYU team play.
Because some day they'll be gone, and we may find ourselves desperate to bring them back again.
